not true bunny.
just go in macro modus, enable the flash, set a very short exposure time (like 1/1000).....
there you go. every cheap camera can do this

Seriously though .... I have have tried with the short exposure and so on, just mostly failed

sure you can still take the pictures they will just never be to the same standard

pfffffff ! ok ... example being :
This (which isn't really all that good) is one of the "best" out of any close up water picture I have tried to take. I might get lucky one day with the camera I have but mostly it's never *as* good !
You should know now you have SLR to compare to !

I made that glass shot with a cheap Olympus who apparantely had great macro options.
I'm going to buy a second hand Nikon F80 (film) with a prime lens.

I don't even have a digital camera. Due to some surgeries I can only now use my left hand for finer things, and the cameras are so damn small and made for righties anyway. Although, canon does have a semi-newish one, 5.0 mp thats very nice to handle without screwing up the picture. $300 CAD. I should get it one day.

hm. with SLR cams you do the hard work (zoom, focus) with the left hand and just press the button with the right hand

What kind did you buy David?

i cant use my right hand at all though, i cant move the fingers.(nerve damage). but the canon one is a perfect size and workable.
that level in notpron, the folding thing, frkyjenn told me the ways in which to fold it so i only had to do it once. If I had to attempt that a 2nd time I'd so be looking up the cheat. hah.
And it wasn't too shabby looking I must say. Try it with one hand.

Not at all actually, faster than many people. We adapt to, and master things pretty fast when we have to.
