OK, I'm going to have to start grasping at straws now..... It was some bacterium or yeast that had infected a scientist on an expedition to the South Pole. When he traveled to the North Pole, the bacterium was still inside the scientist ...... and anyway both places might as well be the same because they're so cold and desolate and freezing.

Stop thinking of them as the north and south poles and you might have more of a chance of getting it

I'm sorry, but this is taking me up the wall. I don't see how you can go halfway around the world from ANYWHERE and end up being in the same place...... This isn't going to end up like that horse riddle, is it? Grrrrrrr........
