Two Kanawha County Wal-Mart stores have pulled sniper-style video games from their shelves, company spokeswoman Melissa Berryhill said Tuesday in a telephone interview from Bentonville, Ark.
"We have not made a corporate decision to remove these games from our store shelves," she said. "Individual store managers can make a decision based on what they feel is right for the community."
One store is located in Carrier's hometown of South Charleston. The other is located in the nearby city of Nitro.
Both removed the games "Halo" and "Grand Theft Auto Vice City," Berryhill said.
Smart move, removing games from shops
Halo but no Hitman 2
They can better remove the guns from shops
And it is still completely unproven that there is any link between violence in videogames and violent tendencies IRL. Although I have a feeling I'm preaching to the converted on this forum.
It's always nice to laugh at the paranoid Americans.
"Guns don't kill people, people kill people"
Yes, but no guns = no shooting...duh
People DO kill people, yes, but it's far too much effort to bother if u don't have a gun, unless u are an über-1337 ninja or something (like Xill), but then u should have also learned control.
But guns are "cool" don't forget...I blame films for that, not computer games...
/goes home, polishes Desert Eagle, yells "fire in the hole, die t scum...etc."
games are actually more benficial than detrimental... they sharpen reflexes, awareness, and people that play them are generally more open to new ideas and non-convential solutions.
They are stupid... they blame video games but television has been attempting to program people for years.
/me goes and rents rambo & robocop

Don't agree. Awareness... LOL. You're looking at a screen. Anyhow, there have been studies to prove this wrong.

Yes.
Wal*Mart pull two sniper video games quickly and easily, but yet still resisted for over three years when it came to stopping the sales of firearms and ammunition.
They're dumb.
